MASSAGE AND BODYWORK MENU
Full Body or Partial Body Massage
It is your choice to have either a full body massage (excluding breasts and genital regions) or a partial body massage where you choose the body areas to
be worked on (excluding breasts and genital regions). Massage techniques are tailored to your specific needs.
The Benefits of Massage Therapy Include
Relieves stress, encourages mental relaxation, increases pain management, improves flexibility and range of motion, relaxes muscles, improves blood flow,
lowers blood pressure, gets you more in touch with your body, and leaves you feeling "blissed out".
MASSAGE THERAPY TECHNIQUES
Relaxation Massage/Swedish Massage
Relaxation massage is a gentle Swedish massage that uses smooth, gliding strokes to help you relax. The massage therapist will move at a slower pace
and use lighter pressure. There is less emphasis on working out serious adhesions or "knots" in the muscle tissue, which can be uncomfortable and cause
some people to tense up against the pressure. In a relaxation massage, the therapist won't push your pain limits in order to get the muscle to release. You
might even fall asleep! It's a good choice for someone who is getting a massage for the first time, or someone who just wants to bring their stress level
down.
Deep Tissue Massage
This technique uses a combination of vigorous motions and applied pressure to relieve pain and chronic tension. The techniques deployed in deep tissue
massage help increase flexibility, circulation, and release toxins trapped within muscle tissue. Deep tissue massage has been shown to be very effective at
relieving chronic pain symptoms, and tension stored in the back and neck. Deep tissue massage can be very effective at reducing the pain from sports
injuries and from diseases such as fibromyalgia. The technique is a preferred method of treating chronic pain and soft tissue injuries, as well as arthritis and
tendonitis. Some discomfort during the massage is to be expected. A deep tissue massage only works by applying pressure to certain areas in order to
loosen and realign the connective tissue below. This action may result in occasional discomfort. However, a deep tissue massage should not inflict high
pain levels. If you feel more pain than comfort, you should tell your massage therapist immediately. You may feel sore immediately after a deep
tissue massage, but this soreness should dissipate quickly.
Pregnancy Massage
Pregnancy massage, also known as pre-natal massage, promotes relaxation, soothes nerves, and relieves strained back and leg muscles in expectant
mothers. Pregnancy massage supports the physiologic, structural, and emotional well-being of both mother and fetus. Pregnancy massage is especially
beneficial in the second and third trimesters, when the extra weight in your belly puts a strain on your back. You can also have your back massaged during
pregnancy by lying on your side, with pillows under your head and between your legs.
Lymphatic Drainage
Lymphatic drainage is a therapeutic method that uses massage-like manipulations to stimulate lymph movement. Lymph is the plasma-like fluid that
maintains the body's fluid balance and removes bacteria. Lymphatic drainage is used to treat lymphedema, swelling in the limbs caused by lymph
accumulation. Lymphatic drainage is accomplished by gentle, rhythmic massage following the direction of lymph flow. Mild stretching movements are
used on the walls of lymph collectors to redirect the flow away from blocked areas into other vessels that drain into the veins.
Reflexology
Reflexology is a science that deals with the principal that there are reflex areas in the hands and feet which correspond to all glands, organs and parts of
the body. By stimulating these reflexes properly, you can help many health problems in a natural, non invasive way. Reflexology possesses a unique
method of using the thumbs and fingers on these reflex areas. It is a total holistic modality and approach to overall health.
Hand and Foot Massage With Essential Oils
Kristy will use massage and reflexology techniques to work out your acupressure points and muscles to induce relaxation as well as to work out any
trigger points or sore spots. All of our nerve endings end in our hands and feet. It is amazing how working these areas of the body can affect other areas.
Hand and foot massage can be done on the massage table or sitting if you prefer, whichever is most comfortable. Enjoy the use of essential oils to relax or
invigorate you. It is your choice of the essential oils.
Chair Massage for Work on the Head, Neck, Shoulders, and Back
If you are unable to get on the massage table or if laying flat on your back is not comfortable, then opt for a chair massage. Your comfort is our pleasure!
Kristy will set up the massage chair for your comfort. You can stay fully dressed or partially dressed from the waist up. The massage chair allows for easy
access to work on the head, neck, shoulders and back.
OTHER BODYWORK SERVICES
Reiki Energy Treatment With Essential Oils and Crystals
Reiki is an ancient spiritual healing technique originating out of Japan. It is a hands on technique that is not massage. Reiki helps to balance your chakras
energy centers in the body to promote mind, body, and spirit healing. We have 7 chakra centers that are aligned from our head to our sacrum. Kristy is a
Reiki Master Healer and has been practicing Reiki for the last 16 years in her private practice. Kristy will also use essential oils and healing crystals in the
session. Essential oils and crystals are also sacred and are ancient healing tools that will enhance your Reiki session. Kristy will provide education about
Reiki, essential oils, and crystals. If you want healing in a specific area of your life or body, please come with the intention to work on this issue. It is okay,
not to have a specific issue in mind as Kristy will check your chakras for any imbalances that need tuning.
Raindrop Technique
There are three modalities that combine to form the Raindrop Technique: 1. Aromatherapy – Raindrop technique uses seven single essential oils, two
blends and one essential oil massage blend during the session. It is congruent with the French application of aromatherapy where essential oils are
applied undiluted to the body. 2. Vita Flex Technique - It is an ancient Tibetan methodology meaning "vitality through the reflexes". It is based on
the fact that slight pressure applied to the body creates an electric charge that is therapeutic to the body. This is known as piezoelectric. 3. Feather
Stroking - This is similar to a massage term technique called effleurage and was actually termed by the Native American Indians.
Sugar Foot Scrub
The seasons can wreak havoc on the skin. In summer or winter, skin exposed to the elements can become dry, itchy and flaky. Sugar scrubs can be a
perfect solution to keep your skin smooth and radiant throughout the year. A sugar scrub is alpha-hydroxy rich, and an active substance with exfoliating and
emollient properties. Sugar is hydrating and is used to smooth and protect feet, soothe foot pain and discomfort, and refresh arches/toes/heels. Take
some time to pay special attention to your tootsies and enjoy how good it feels!
Chi Machine
The Chi Machine enables the human body to gently move from side to side in a figure of eight (the same way a goldfish swims), maximizing the body's
natural absorption of oxygen, using all the movement orbits of the human anatomy. This movement may be compared to a massage therapist holding your
ankles and swinging you from side to side after a massage. The machine has an ankle cradle on the top which oscillates (moves from side to side), at
approximately 140/minute - a multiple of the average pulse rate (72) and the cerebro-spinal pump rhythm (12) synchronized with your heart rate, blood
pressure and spinal alignment - creating a balanced, rhythmic, relaxing wave-like motion throughout your entire body, thereby oxygenating every cell and
tissue via blood circulation, thus enhancing your metabolic rate, aiding detoxification via the lymphatic system, aligning your spine and activating the
autonomic nervous system.
Chakra Balancing using Essential Oils and Crystals
In keeping with the Holistic approach to wellness, Chakra balancing addresses the mind, body and spirit. This particular system deals with energy centers
throughout our bodies known as Chakras. Chakra is a Sanscrit word meaning "wheels." At one level, clearing the chakras heals the physical body by
releasing stored blocks accumulated through a lifetime of traumas and negative experiences. Once these blocks are gone, the body can return to its
original natural state of perfect health, and the results will be readily noticed. At another level, healthy chakras allow the flow of pure energy to move freely
from the lower to the higher chakras, and the natural state of abundance, prosperity and joy can be realized. The healthier the chakra, the more positive and
balanced energy we attract. The more energy we attract and hold on to, we can be healthier, stronger and happier. A healthy chakra is one that is spinning
rapidly in a clockwise direction, with no blocks to stop the flow of the Chi or Prana (Universal Energy or Life Force) that we need to live. Chakras, however
are not always healthy, and for the most part are forever changing. The state of the chakras depends on many different factors, such as lifestyle, thought
patterns, emotional history, and past life history. As one moves through life and its experiences, the chakras are absorbing the effects. There are seven
major Chakras that usually are dealt with in healings. These start at the bottom of the spinal cord, at the coccyx bone, and reach up along the spinal cord all
the way to the top of the head. Chakra balancing is vital for those who want speed up their spiritual advancement, but is equally important for those
wanting to maintain physical and mental health. In fact, by maintaining good mental and physical health, the path to spiritual awakening will be all the
easier.
Ionic Foot Detox
The purpose of this type of foot bath detoxification process is to cleanse your body. Ions generated by the ion cleanse appear to travel through the body,
attaching themselves to many different toxic substances, neutralizing them, and drawing them out through the feet. The toxic substances ionic foot
cleansing removes are a result of a poor diet and high stress. A body tends to accumulate these toxins over time weighing us down and causing emotional
and physical problems. Ionic foot cleansing is said to be essential in order to maintain health and high energy levels, avoiding disease, and providing long-
term wellness. The Ionic foot cleanse is practical for most people because there is no preparation of special meals, no disruption in routine, and no
discipline required unlike many herbal or fasting remedies commonly used to achieve the same goal of detoxification and cleansing of the body. You can
just sit back and relax as you soak your feet and let your body detoxify. A module is placed in a tub of clean water and a good grade sea salt. You then
place your feet into the warm water while Kristy attaches a wrist band and places an infrared heat belt around your waist. The infrared heat belt stimulates
your organs with deep penetrating infrared heat waves to stimulate the detoxification process. When the system is turned on, you will immediately notice a
bubbling action due to a controlled electrical current that courses through the water breaking it up. This breaking up of water molecules causes an electron
to be displaced from its host which in turn makes it seek out another oxygen molecule. When it does, a negative ion is produced. Negative ions are a
very powerful antioxidant, and deliver more oxygen to the body. Negative ions alkalize and balance the body which is important for the body to begin
healing itself (Disease can only grab hold in an acidic environment). When you alkalize the body, it can then begin the process of detoxifying the body
through the liver, kidneys, and skin. Positive ions are a result of an atom or molecule that's lost an electron. Free radicals are unpaired electrons and the
result is degeneration. When you sit in front of a computer for any length of time, you are bombarded with positive ions which is why you can feel so
fatigued or spaced out. Even living in a city, you experience more positive ions. Have you noticed that when you drive out to the country, walk through a
forest, breathe clean fresh air, or smell fresh rainfall, you feel better? That is because you are getting more negative ions.
Sound Healing
Sound healing is a therapeutic practice that uses cellular esonant vibrations, neuroscience, and specific sound frequencies to promote physical, mental, and
emotional well-being. By immersing the body in sustained, harmonious tones, it helps quiet the nervous system, lower stress hormones, and induce deep,
meditative states. Cellular Resonance: Because the human body is roughly 60% water, it acts as an excellent conductor of vibration. Sound waves stimulate
cellular ion channels and create microscopic pulses within tissues, effectively functioning like a cellular massage that promotes circulation and tissue repair.
Brainwave Entrainment: Sound waves of specific frequencies can shift brainwave patterns. Instruments like crystal bowls and gongs guide the brain from
active beta waves into slower alphaor theta states—which are associated with deep meditation, relaxation, and emotional processing. Nervous System
Regulation: The rhythmic vibrations target the vagus nerve, signaling safety to the brain. This dials down the sympathetic nervous system (fight-or-flight) and
activates the parasympathetic nervous system (rest-and-digest), decreasing cortisol levels and lowering heart rates
